Founded in Galilee, Rhode Island in 1978, Galilean Seafoods, Inc. was created for the sole purpose of processing Surf Clams.  Starting with only ten employees, the company was soon known for producing the highest quality clam products in the marketplace.  Demand for their clams grew quickly and soon Galilean moved into a larger, updated facility in Bristol, Rhode Island.  In 1988 the Montopoli family assumed ownership of the fast-growing company.

The hand shucking process guarantees only the highest quality products, and Galilean Seafoods takes pride in its continuing quality standards and high level of customer assurance.  The product offering has been expanded to include Cocktail Necks, Sea Scallops and King Conch as well as their famous clam products -- the original Surf Clams and a full line of hand shucked breaded clam items.  In 1995 the plant underwent a major renovation to add an on-site microbiological laboratory and to bring the entire facility into accordance with all HACCP State and Federal product safety guidelines.

Today Galilean Seafoods is one of the largest and most respected hand shucked clam suppliers in the country, and continues to seek new ways of serving the Seafood Industry.
